Are you curious to learn and experience the joyfulness of living in a sustainable commune and promoting sustainability? Many of us are becoming stressed while trying to live with the ways of today’s world, which is taking a toll on one’s own health and that of the planet too. In this program, you will learn the fundamentals of sustainability and climate action, while staying in a quiet and peaceful post-growth community with lush green surroundings and farm lands. We will provide a glimpse of experiential opportunities for leading a holistic joyful life and how our conscious decisions in day-to-day life can contribute towards creating a sustainable future for our children and the forthcoming generations. If you want to be part of this journey and interact with the successful practitioners in this field, then please join us in a two day immersive program at one of the post-growth communities in Karimnagar, Telangana.

About the Community

Veda Gayathri Rushi Pariwar (VGRP) is a Postgrowth Community and a “Living Lab” that was established in the year 2018 at Karimnagar, Telangana. It is a sustainable resilient community in transition, designed and led by conscious people and youth to live life joyfully in sync with nature. The community also has an alternate school / Gurukulam for children designed to develop them as super-leaders. In addition, the community has few social enterprises operated and managed by the youth and women.

FAQ's

The program is for motivated individuals, graduates, working professionals, corporate managers and organizational decision makers who are interested in learning about climate change, sustainability, living in sustainable communes and adopting healthy lifestyles.

The program is offered to only selected individuals. The participants are selected based on their motivation described in the application form. The maximum number of participants selected for the program is 30. Participants are given an opportunity based on first cum first served basis.

The program is scheduled for 2 days from 24th to 25th June 2023. The participants must come to the venue by 7 PM on Friday, 23th June 2023. Participants can leave on 25th evening at 5.30 PM or early morning on 26th June.

Participants can be of any age.

Participant should be able to walk atleast 2+2 KMs to join in this event.

The program fee is fixed and is Rs.2000/- per individual. Amount once paid is not refundable. The program fees include food and accommodation. It does not include travel expenditure to reach the venue. Participants have to bear their travel expenditure to reach and go from the venue. Any other expenditure, like: medical must be paid additionally by the individual.

Partial scholarships will be given to needful persons. After doing registration, please write an email to: karun[a]suspot.org. Please provide details about your situation and why we should give you the scholarship in the email

All interested candidates must fill the online application form first and we will get back to them with further details via email. Note: Your participation is not confirmed until you receive a Confirmation Email from the organizers upon the payment of the program fees.

The facility is in a 5 acre campus with lush green surroundings and farm lands. Around 60 people live in the community and majority of them are children and youth. The conscious community was started in the year 2018 and is one among the few post growth communities in India. The community has an alternate learning space and Gurukulam for children and youth, Gaushala with 26 desi cows and a farm land of ~ 2.5 acres within the campus. It has a common kitchen facility where food is prepared and eaten together by all the members of the community. Furthemore, the community also has two eco-friendly houses designed to suit modern lifestyle. In addition, there is a meditation center and a recreation hall.

The venue is safe and is chosen in good faith by the organizers to provide best results to the participants. First aid kit for emergency is available at the venue and an RMP doctor is present 24*7 near the campus. A modern Multi Speciality Hospital is within 15 minutes reach from the venue, in case of emergencies

The venue is very safe for women participants, since the facilities are part of a living community. There are also female volunteers to assist during the entire program.

Participants have to make their own travel arrangements to reach the venue. The community is located ~170 KMs from secunderabad railway station, Hyderabad, Telangana.

By Train

We highly recommend the outstation participants to travel in train to reach the venue. The nearest railway station is in Warangal and Secunderabad. After getting down from the train, you have to take a bus to Karimnagar.

By Bus

From Secunderabad, please take a bus from Jubilee Bus Stand. It takes 4 to 4.5 Hours to reach the venue after you take the bus.

From Warangal: The bus stand is just in front of the railway station. It will take 2.5 hours to reach Karimnagar.

From Karimnagar, the venue is ~18 KMs from the bus stand. You can take an Auto or bus to reach the venue

By Car

It takes about 3.5 Hours to reach the venue. We recommend carpooling between the confirmed participants.

The accommodation will be given in common halls. Separate accommodation for male and female. Individuals will be given Mats to sleep on the floor. This is intentionally designed in the program. Participants are requested to get their own bedsheet and blanket.

Please get appropriate clothing (Normal shirts and trousers). For girls/ladies: No Knee length pants and sleeveless shirts. Please get one or two pairs of dresses for doing Yoga and for doing physical work with mud or cow manure.

Food is vegetarian and Satvyk. Majority of the food provided is organic. The food provided will be nutritious, climate friendly and would help in detoxifying your body. The drinking water provided here is Alkaline and has the best TDS value suitable for consumption.

Children are not allowed for the program.

The community has its own self-sustainable enterprises, Like: Cold Press Oil Extraction Unit, Dairy Products, Organic Products Store, Millet based nutritious health powder and Organic Manure and Concoctions for Urban gardeners. In addition, the alternate learning center also runs an Online Music School.

The program is conducted entirely in English.

In the case of unexpected natural events and spread of viral diseases, the event will be cancelled or postponed.

Refund amount: After deduction of admin costs the remaining amount will be refunded.
